A Note to Aura Mortgage Borrowers in Response to COVID-19

March 26, 2020

Dear Aura mortgage borrowers,

We hope you and your families are safe and healthy during this difficult and uncertain time.

You may have seen recent news regarding mortgage lenders delaying payments for homeowners who have lost income due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

So, we wanted to reach out to you regarding payments on your Aura mortgage loan through the SUN initiative.

If you are able to continue to make timely payments on your Aura mortgage, we expect and encourage you to do so.

If you become unable to make your Aura mortgage payments due to financial distress caused by the pandemic, you MUST reach out to your servicer Dovenmuehle (DMI), and to us, before you suspend your payments.

We need to understand why it is that you need a delay in your mortgage payments.  We will review all requests for payment deferral on a case-by-case basis.

Start this process by contacting DMI. The best way to do so is to call (800) 669 - 4268.

If you are unable to reach DMI, contact us directly to discuss your situation. You can reach our Customer Relations team (Ron McCormick and Marlene Honore) at rmccormick@bluehubcapital.org and mhonore@bluehubcapital.org, or by phone at (617) 427 – 8600. Please do not come to our office at this time.

One of the benefits to you of reaching out to DMI and to Aura is that, if you are approved for a delay in payments (sometimes referred to as “forbearance”), DMI will waive late fees.  We can also help assure that your credit stays intact.

Borrowers who are currently delinquent on their payments, in default, or in foreclosure are eligible for forbearance. Aura has currently paused foreclosures, evictions, and repossessions. However, any granted forbearance for currently delinquent borrowers does not waive underlying defaults or future foreclosures, evictions, and repossessions.

We will continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation, and our industry guidelines, and we will be in touch with further updates as they emerge.

Stay safe,

Adam Beattie
