Solar Panels

In 2011, BlueHub Capital financed the installation of solar panels on the roof of the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). This allowed the organization to get green energy for a low, fixed rate and to spend the savings doing what they do best—preventing hunger in our own Greater Boston community.

“Every dollar we save means we can feed more people. It’s that simple,” says Catherine D’Amato, president and CEO of GBFB.

As New England’s largest hunger relief organization, GBFB helps people in the area be productive members of their communities by ensuring that they are well fed. BlueHub provided the flexible financing they needed to enhance their vision.

In 2014, BlueHub worked with GBFB again, financing the installation of additional solar panels. To date, the organization has 1,154 solar panels that produce 313,427 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, saving them $20,000 annually.
