Revitalization of historic downtown through redevelopment of the Enterprise Building with Trinity Financial

The Enterprise Building, Brockton, Massachusetts

Brockton was once a thriving urban center brimming with opportunity, but over the past decades has suffered from disinvestment. Today, Brockton is identified as a “Gateway City” and BlueHub Capital, formerly known as Boston Community Capital, is poised to invest in its revitalization. “Putting this deal together required a pretty complicated acquisition strategy. [BlueHub Capital] was a great partner.” Revitalization of the downtown began with the redevelopment of the Enterprise Building, home of the local paper The Brockton Enterprise. Kenan Bigby of Trinity Financial, BlueHub Capital's partner in the project, reports that the redeveloped city block will contain mixed income housing, commercial real estate and spaces for cultural and municipal uses. This dynamic project reflects the aims of BlueHub Capital; we are committed to supporting dynamic progress in low-income and underserved communities. Says Bigby, “Putting this deal together required a pretty complicated acquisition strategy. It took some vision to understand what we were talking about and ... a lot of unwinding to get site control." BlueHub Capital, he says, "worked with us through all of it, providing the acquisition loan that enabled us to secure the site. They’re a great partner.”
