Boston Community Capital was recently featured in the Huffington Post article, "Cooperative Banking is the Exciting Wave of the Future."  The article, written by Ellen Brown, explains the positive shift occurring in banking from "the massive too-big-to-fail banks" that "are not interested in community lending" to the '''values-based' banking" that is "committed to responsible lending and service to the local community."  Among the various types of banks and credit unions Brown discusses are Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and specifically Boston Community Capital.  Brown writes:

"Boston Community Capital (BCC) is a CDFI that is not actually a bank but invests in projects that provide affordable housing and jobs in lower-income neighborhoods. BCC includes a loan fund, a venture fund, a mortgage lender, a real estate consultation organization, a solar energy fund, and a federal New Markets Tax Credit investment vehicle."
