Nora Bloch, Senior Loan Officer at Boston Community Capital, to focus on racial equity in lending

BOSTON – Nora Bloch, a senior loan officer with Boston Community Capital (BCC), has been selected by the Center for Community Investment as one of 12 Fulcrum Fellows to participate in the inaugural class of its leadership development program for rising executives.

As part of BCC’s mission to address the needs of low-income communities, Bloch currently develops and implements loan products to meet evolving community needs, including community facilities, commercial economic development projects, healthy food financing, and affordable housing. During the 15-month program, Bloch will focus on developing strategies to add a racial equity lens to the implementation of BCC’s five-year plan to double both the size of the Boston Community Loan Fund portfolio and its impact.

The Center’s Fulcrum Fellowship, designed for rising executives in the fields of population health, climate resilience, community development, urban planning and community investment, aims to advance fellows’ work to help disinvested communities achieve their environmental, social and economic priorities.

“Our first cohort of Fulcrum Fellows is a dynamic group of leaders ready to scale efforts to make positive differences in the lives of the people in their communities” said Robin Hacke, Executive Director of the Center. “The challenges and proposed solutions they shared with us during the application process were very impressive. I am confident that with the support of this fellowship, they will begin to make strides to advance equity, health, and well-being in their respective communities.”

The Fellowship provides opportunities for participants to build skills in leadership and collaboration, broaden their vision, strengthen their networks, and sharpen their ability to advance strategies that overcome barriers to investment to help make communities healthier. Bloch will participate in five quarterly in-person, multi-day seminars, and receive coaching, as well as technical and peer support.
