BlueHub Capital Welcomes Lubna Maria Elia as its first Chief Administrative Officer

BlueHub Capital, a national nonprofit community finance organization, today announces the hiring of Lubna Maria Elia as its first Chief Administrative Officer. Elia will focus on talent management, administration, and continuing to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace to support the growth of BlueHub’s current and emerging initiatives.

“Lubna’s management expertise will support our efforts to maintain BlueHub Capital’s robust growth as well as our culture,” said Elyse Cherry, CEO of BlueHub Capital. “Lubna’s commitment to the communities we serve and her deep experience with impact investment give her excellent insights into our work and mission. We are delighted to welcome Lubna to BlueHub Capital.”

Elia has 20 years of experience in the impact investing and social enterprise sectors. She is the founder of the New England Impact Investing Initiative, a nonprofit working to build a thriving and diverse regional impact investing industry by fostering connections, knowledge sharing, and talent development.

Elia has held a variety of leadership roles at nonprofits advancing economic and social justice. Most recently, she served as COO at Compass Working Capital, an organization that promotes asset building and financial planning for families with low incomes. At Root Capital, an international lender that transforms rural communities by investing in agricultural enterprises, she held several roles, including fundraising, legal resource coordination, GRC (governance, risk management and compliance), and human resources.

Elia, a fluent Spanish speaker, earned a master’s degree in international relations from Boston University and a bachelor’s in humanities honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where she specialized in economic development in Latin America.
