Thank you for joining Boston Community Capital for our 30th anniversary celebration on Monday night! A crowd of close to 600 borrowers, investors, policy makers, community partners and neighborhood residents packed the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama in Boston’s South End for an inspiring evening of distinguished speakers, fabulous food and rousing music and spoken word performances in celebration of over $1 billion invested in building healthy communities.
Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, our dynamic emcee, shared the stage with BCC Board Chair Charles Clark, Senator Elizabeth Warren (via video), Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Attorney General Maura Healey, and BCC CEO Elyse Cherry, whose remarks celebrated BCC’s impact, and the power and possibility created in working at the intersections of downtown and community. Spoken word performance artists Climbing Poetree captivated the audience as they invited us to join together to tackle our toughest problems, while Latin-Baroque fusion ensemble Rumbarocco provided a rousing example of how exciting and dynamic the fusion of diverse ideas and expertise can be.
The crowd enjoyed food from some of the best downtown and community restaurants Boston has to offer, including Sweet Cheeks/Tiger Mama, Haley House, Flour Bakery, Journeyman, Mei Mei Kitchen, Merengue, The Palm, and 75 Chestnut, whose spectacular samplings represented the breadth of our city’s cultural and culinary diversity.
