Construction is underway for a 123,875 square foot mixed-use center that will revitalize Richmond, Virginia's East End. BlueHub Capital provided $3 million in New Markets Tax Credit allocation for this project.
In addition to improving community health by providing access to healthy food and health care services, the project will be a cornerstone of job creation. Church Hill’s revitalization is expected to create 146 construction jobs, as well as 78 full-time and 30 part-time jobs.
The Richmond Free Press recently detailed the comprehensive eight-week job training already underway for a select group of applicants to the grocery store.
The entire center is expected to be completed in summer 2019.
