In a Boston Business Journal feature, BlueHub Capital is recognized for its 40 years of investment and impact in Roxbury — and its continued leadership at a time when community development financial institutions (CDFIs) face growing federal challenges.
The story highlights BlueHub’s partnership with Greg Minott and Dream Collaborative on a major redevelopment in Nubian Square that includes 74 mixed-income housing units, local artist spaces, and a new home for Haley House Bakery Café. Minott credits BlueHub’s early investment with helping to attract other financing and bring the project to life.
As BlueHub CEO Elyse Cherry shares in the piece, BlueHub’s recently released 40-year impact study shows $147 million in loan financing to 153 Roxbury projects, supporting more than 3,200 housing units, 81% of which are affordable. Those investments have leveraged an additional $910 million in outside capital.
Cherry also points to several cornerstone investments: the new Franklin Cummings Tech campus, the redevelopment of Bartlett Station, and BlueHub SUN, which has helped Roxbury families avoid foreclosure and build wealth.
