CT Mirror: As foreclosure filings rise, prevention programs are available

The Connecticut Mirror reports that as foreclosure filings in the state rise, prevention programs like BlueHub SUN are stepping in to help.

Trevor Johnie from Waterbury started having trouble paying his mortgage in 2017 after arranging a funeral for his older sister in 2017. When the pandemic hit, he was still behind and lost his job as a truck driver. He was worried he’d have to give up his home in a short sale, but BlueHub SUN was able to buy it and sell it back to him with a new mortgage he could afford.

“I was just praying,” Johnie said. “They [the former mortgage servicer] were sending me letters and giving me days to get out of the house. It was just a godsend.”
