On November 3rd Boston Community Capital’s CEO, Elyse Cherry, gave a lecture at The School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University, which hosts an Open Classroom Policy Series each semester.  This is a graduate-level seminar featuring prominent guest lecturers that is free to the public.  As a featured lecturer of the course, “The Role of Government in the 21st Century,” Elyse explored the question, “How Much Should Government Subsidize Homeownership?”  Through the lens of the current US housing market, Elyse deconstructed the question and stressed the importance of reducing monthly housing expenses, supporting housing values, and keeping homeowners as homeowners.
